Building on the success of our current locations, we are looking for a small number of franchisees (studio owners) in the next 12 months. We have adopted a controlled growth strategy to ensure the quality and consistency of our studios and to ensure we provide a strong support base for our studio owners. Our focus is on health / fitness and build community, but we do this in a reasonable and responsible fashion. Our initial expansion is taking place within BC, and specifically within the Lower Mainland.

Opening a Urban Fitness Club Franchise is surprisingly affordable, PLUS our admin center handles all the stressful and time consuming administrative tasks on your behalf, such as:

  • Class scheduling
  • Teacher recruitment, training and certification

What We Look For In Studio Owners?

When considering people for Urban Fitness Franchise, we are first and foremost looking for people who will always be committed to our Community, and always have a commitment to lifestyles of health, fitness & well-being. In addition, preference will be given to applicants who:

  • Are certified group fitness instructors with over 3 years of teaching experience and are passionate about the active lifestyle
  • Are disciplined self-starters with a high level of personal integrity
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have the necessary funds to invest in the business
  • Have the ability to get started within 90 days
  • Are familiar with and involved in the community where the Urban Fitness Club will be located
  • Will actively work in and manage the business

Your total initial financial investment required, to open a Urban Fitness Club Franchise, is $75,000. It is broken down as follows:
  • $35,000 Franchise Fee (one time fee at purchase)
  • $25,000 (Location prep and set-up to opening plus additional costs related to start-up program)
  • $15,000 (Cash reserve for first months of operation)


5% of gross sales is charged on a monthly basis as a royalty fee.

Start time can be determined by administration while in start-up phase.

How It All Comes Together

We have developed a “Mutual Investigation Process” which allows both parties to exchange information in a sequential manner and proceed at their own pace. During this process you will be required to provide adequate information for us to evaluate your potential as an Urban Fitness Club franchisee. At the same time, you will be receiving sufficient information from us about the franchise opportunity that will allow you to decide if you wish to move forward at each stage of the application process.

Step 1: The Initial Enquiry

The first step is to thoroughly read the information above. If you are still interested in pursuing a Urban Fitness Club franchise, you should complete and submit the Initial Enquiry Form located at the end of this section. We will contact you if you meet our preliminary qualification criteria. During this phase we will;
  • Discuss your preferred location(s) and your time frame to opening
  • Discuss the total level of investment and minimum cash requirement
  • Provide you with a copy of our Request for Information & Consideration Form


The next step is for you to complete the Request for Information and Consideration Form and return it to our corporate office for our review. During this period, you are requested to refrain from discussing the business directly with any of our employees, our franchisees or their employees.


If the information provided in your Request for Information and Consideration Form meets our selection criteria we will arrange a personal meeting at which time you will be required to execute a Confidentiality/Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to being provided with more in-depth information. The purpose of this meeting is to:
  • Review your application
  • Discuss the financial requirements
  • Discuss potential locations
  • Visit a Urban Fitness Club (you can omit this if you wish and have a ‘Discovery’ or ‘Confirmation’ Day)


Should we mutually decide to proceed, the next step is for you to:
  • Execute an Offer to Purchase Agreement and pay a deposit of $5,000, which is non-refundable
  • Receive a copy of our Franchise Agreement


Once the Offer to Purchase Agreement has been executed and the deposit has been paid you have 15 days to:

  • Have the Franchise Agreement reviewed by a lawyer who is experienced in the field of franchising*
  • Execute the Franchise Agreement and pay the balance of the initial franchise fee of $30,000
If during this 15-day period, you decide not to proceed with the franchise or we elect not to proceed with your application. *We thoroughly review the Franchise Agreement with you so that you have a clear understanding of what is involved before you have it reviewed by a lawyer.


If the location has not been determined prior to the execution of the Franchise Agreement you will commence your search for a location, which fits our site selection criteria, after execution of the franchise agreement and payment of the initial franchise fee.
